ITANAGAR: The Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRI) memeber of Shi-Yomi district has appealed to the State Government to upgrade the existing BSNL network service as well as to bring other private telecommunication service in the district.

"Besides repeated request to the BSNL authority, we have not seen any kind of improvement or upgradation till to date," he said. He informed that the district currently had BSNL 2G mobile service in Mechuka, Tato and Monigong. However, due to poor signal and heavy congestion, the service users are unable to communicate smoothly with their contacts. "Moreover, it is pertinent to mention that there is no internet service because even a single text or message is unable to deliver compelling the denizens of Shi-Yomi to live untouched with rest of the world," he added. He said that the district was being deprived in terms of network connectivity when rest of the districts were availing proper network and internet facilities.

Regarding the issue, a joint memorandum was submitted to Chief Minister's Office (CMO) on Monday, informed Hangong.
