PMGSY works in Arunachal reviewed by Rural Works department

ITANAGAR: Following the direction of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and chairmanship of Rural Works Department (RWD) Minister Honchun Ngandam, the Rural Works department completed its first three-day marathon review meeting of ongoing 'Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana' (PMGSY) in the State. The three-day review meeting focussed on the PMGSY roads under two rural Circles in the State out of the total six rural works Circles.

The review meeting was attended by all the PMGSY contractors and department field engineers. Active participation and discussion pertaining to progress of works and focusing the details of concerns and issues related to each individual road along with problems and hindrances faced by contractors were discussed in detail on the day.

Nangdam expressed concern over the slow progress of several projects under the scheme and urged the contractors totake up the project in mission mode and make extra efforts to accelerate the progress of PMGSY works in order to achieve the target of 4,850 kms of PMGSY roads within next financial Year 2020-21.

He also stressed on the teamwork between the contractor and field engineer to achieve the target and directed the Secretary, Chief Engineer (PMGSY) and field Engineers to provide all the necessary support and assistance to the contractors.

Meanwhile, Chief Engineer (PMGSY) D. Nyodu made a detailed presentation of the progress of the work road wise. Superintendent Engineer (SE) Tabu Paktung also briefed about the quality issue.
