Protest rally in Lower Siang, demands implementation of 'Arunachal Pradesh District Reorganization Act

Around 300 people under the 36-Nari-Koyu Assembly constituency organized a mass democratic protest rally demanding implementation of the ‘Arunachal Pradesh District Reorganization Act-2013.

ITANAGAR: Around 300 people under the 36-Nari-Koyu Assembly constituency organized a mass democratic protest rally demanding immediate implementation of the 'Arunachal Pradesh District Reorganization Act-2013', lifting the status quo in Kora Circle and declaring an appointed day for Lower Siang district as per the 'Arunachal Pradesh District Reorganization Act-2013'. The demonstration was held under the banners of 'Kora Circle Issue Joint Action Committee' (KCIJAC), 'RamleBanggo Welfare Society' (RBWS), 'RamleBanggo Youth Forum' (RBYF), and the 'RamleBanggo Students Union} (RBYF) participated in the protest.

In a press statement, the KCIJAC has appealed to the State government to immediately work on the demands of the committee. The organizations also threatened to launch a series of democratic protests in days to come if their demands are not fulfilled.

The committee also informed that a memorandum has been submitted by the Zilla Parishad Members (ZPM) on behalf of all stakeholders to the State government through DC, Lower Siang district.
