ITANAGAR: The education department of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) has organized a series of Janbhagidari (public participation) activities to commemorate India’s G20 presidency. India assumed the G20 presidency on December 1 last year, and since then, a lot of meetings, visits, and activities have been organised throughout the country. The National Council for Teacher Education instructed all teacher education institutes across India to organise a series of Janbhagidari activities to commemorate India’s G20 presidency. On the concluding day of the event, RGU Vice Chancellor Prof. Saket Kushwaha congratulated the department for conducting a series of activities successfully in a very short period of time.

Prof. Kushwaha also highlighted how important it is to organise such activities by teacher education institutes. "It is the teachers who shape the thinking of the learners at the early stage of life and teach learners to cooperate with each other to achieve the collective goals," he said. The department organised four activities, including low-cost teaching and learning material under the leadership of Prof. Boa Reena Tok and Dr. Sushant Kumar Nayak; a rangoli competition under the leadership of Dr. Anga Padu and Dr. Tayum Saroh; a poster-making competition under Dr. Prasanta Kumar Barik, Dr. Tage Monju, and Dr. Akash Ranjan; and a webinar on artificial intelligence in education under Dr. C. Siva Sankar.

Prof. Madhusudan J. V., Head of Department of Education and Educational Technology and Director, Centre for Digital Learning Resources and Training (CDLTR), delivered the keynote address. Prof. Madhusudan highlighted various points on how artificial intelligence is going to impact the future of education and how its judicious use would make it more beneficial for teachers and learners. RGU Registrar Dr. N. T. Rikam, in his address, motivated all the participants and gave away prizes to the winners of the rangoli and poster-making competitions.
