Itanagar: Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) here, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Brno University of Technology of Czech Republic for collaborative researches in scientific issues of natural, engineering, and technical sciences as well as for research and exchange programmes of faculty and students of both the universities.
The MoU was signed by Prof Tomo Riba, Registrar in-charge of RGU and Prof Petr Stepanek, the Rector of Brno University of Technology, in presence of RGU Vice-Chancellor Prof Saket Kushwaha during a function on Tuesday, a press release informed here on Wednesday.
The MoU aims at providing new avenues for access, sharing and developing technical know-how between the two varsities, initially for next five years.
The RGU VC termed the inking of the MoU ‘historic’ and a welcome step towards achieving academic heights on mutually benefitting parameters for the two nations.
RGU Joint Registrar (Academic) Dr David Pertin mentioned that the joint venture will be academically very viable especially in terms of exchange avenues for students, academic fraternity and researchers alike, wherein any registered students or researchers of either of the varsities could get enrolment for a period of one semester and get benefitted immensely.
Among others, RGU Pro-VC Prof Amitava Mitra, Finance Officer in-charge of RGU Prof Otem Padung, COE in-charge Dr N T Jose, visiting professor Vinod Kumar from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur witnessed the signing of the MoU, the release added.
