ITANAGAR: Rajya Sabha MP Nabam Rebia along with the legislator Techi Kaso, Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) Deputy Commissioner Komkar Dulom and other officers visited the proposed bridge at Borum which would connect Borum village near Railway Station, Naharlagun to Lekhi village.
Stressing that the bridge would ease communication for the people coming from the areas of Lekhi, Nirjuli, Karsingsa, and Banderdewa, Rebia had a detailed discussion with representatives of the Railways to expedite the pending construction work of the bridge. The Executive Engineer Railways for Construction, Kinkar Das informed that the construction work had slowed down due to lack of funds. However, he said that once the funds are provided, the project can be expected to be completed within six months as only the super structure is remaining to be completed. As the project is being funded Centrally by the Department of Railways, Rebia urged them to submit all the necessary documents at the earliest so that the matter can be taken up at higher level. He also assured of his intervention in the matter wherever required.
