ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Health Secretary P Parthiban has informed that the number of people participating in the random Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) is declining during the last couple of days since it started from the second week of this month. "The people are not willing to come forward for the test, which makes the efforts of doctors absolutely futile," he said, adding that this is the reason behind the decrease in numbers of tests in the past few days.

While requesting the public to come forward for RAT testing, the Health Secretary said that until people come out for tests, the Health department cannot assure that there is no more infection among the public residing in various sectors. "The more such testing is done, the more we can be safe and further stop the transmission of coronavirus," he added.

Being affirmative, the Health Secretary also said that there won't be complete lockdown after August 3, but there will be some restriction.

He also informed that many organizations have been pushing for home isolation for those who are tested COVID positive with asymptomatic symptoms. "The fear among the public is that, if someone is tested positive they will be shifted to the State COVID Care Centre (CCC) at Lekhi. The public wants home isolation but this is not possible as of now as per State government's SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)," he said.
