RCC footbridge inaugurated which connects G-Extension to Polo Park in Itanagar

NAHARLAGUN: Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Mayor, Tame Phassang along with IMC executive engineer Tadar Tarang inaugurated a RCC Footbridge constructed which connects G-Extension to Polo Park near here recently.

Phassang appreciated the contractors and IMC Engineers for constructing a quality bridge with minimum funds, which is a really commendable job. He said that there is no fund crunch in the department as of now.

"If there are some issues in the future regarding the fund, I will give my full efforts to confer funds for such genuine projects that will help the denizens of IMC jurisdiction" he said.

He further added that not only bridges but IMC will visit every nook and corners of every ward to identify and understand the problems of the denizens. Our job is not only limited to collecting garbage but to improve the issues of schools to Health and other basic amenities, he added.

Phassang also appealed to the people to take proper care of the newly constructed footbridge. He said that the bridge will now cut down the distance between ward 15 and ward 16. Thereby, it will allow pedestrians to reach G-extension Market areas, government offices, Hospitals and to be used for other emergency works, he added.

Meanwhile, Corporator Tarh Achak informed that the 22 meter long footbridge over Damsite Nalah (Stream) constructed with the cost of Rs 12 Lakh has been completed within months.

"It was a long-pending demand of the people for a bridge; life was also lost in the last monsoon season while a lady was trying to cross the river. But now we have a strong RCC footbridge" he said.
