ROING: As a part of the 'Read to Learn' campaign launched by the Lohit Youth Library Network, Dibang Youth Library, Roing has launched a series of 'Maths is Fun' workshops for government school students of classes VII to XII, to help them recover from the stagnation in studies due to coronavirus pandemic.

The first of these workshops for Class VII students was conducted successfully recently. Around 15 students from Cheta Government Middle School and Roing Sec School attended the same, fully following corona SOP.

The workshop was conducted by Malothro Mena, a student of IIT Kharagpur and a library volunteer. A range of activities highlighting interesting aspects of numbers, maths puzzles and guessing games and paper folding geometry made the session highly interactive and enjoyable to the participants. They could also go through interesting books on mathematics and eminent mathematicians. The remaining workshops will be held in the coming weeks, targetting only 20 students per batch.
