ITANAGAR: The 'All Arunachal Pradesh Anti-Corruption Students Union' (AAPACSU) staged a 24-hour hunger strike at the IG Park here on Sunday demanding that the Central government must re-claim the lands allegedly captured by the Chinese government at Upper Subansiri district. It also demanded repeal of the three contentious farm laws.

Stating that the demands put down by the students' union are in the interest of the country, AAPACSU president Tana Ganesh Tara told the media that the repeated incursion from China in the country should be solved at the earliest. He requested Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao and Rajya Sabha MP Nabam Rebia to raise the issue in the Parliament. This is a serious issue; and it should be solved before it creates further more tension in the border areas of the State," he added.

He also said that China has already set up a village on the banks of River Tsati Chu, which lies in Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh.

The village is constructed within the territory of the State and the Central government should take measures to tackle such incursions, he added.

Tara also informed that the members of the students union is ready to sit in a hunger strike at New Delhi relating to the Chinese incursion issue in the State.

Extending its solidarity with the farmers protesting for the repealing of three contentious farm laws, Tara said that the voice and concerns of the farmers should be heard.

He also said that the Bills should be passed in the Parliament in public interest. The farm laws are totally against the interest of the farmers; and these should be repealed, he added.
