ITANAGAR: Single-day recovery surpassed fresh Covid-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh for the second consecutive day on Monday, with 47 more people recuperating from the infection against 17 fresh cases, a senior health official said.
The State recorded 83 recoveries and 58 fresh infections on Sunday.
With the new cases, the Covid-19 tally in the State rose to 65,824, while 65,078 people have recuperated thus far.
The death toll remained unchanged at 296, with no new fatality recorded in the past 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
Among the new cases, seven were reported from the Dibang Valley district, three each from the Capital Complex Region and Lohit, and one each from Leparada, Tawang, West Kameng and West Siang districts respectively, the official said.
Arunachal Pradesh currently has 450 active cases, the SSO said.
The recovery rate stands at 98.87 per cent, while the active rate stood at 0.68 per cent, Dr Jampa said.
The Namsai district has the highest number of active cases at 64, followed by East Siang, Changlang and the Capital Complex Region of Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas at 36 each, Lohit (33) and Dibang Valley at 30 cases.
A total of 12,82,950 samples have been tested for Coronavirus in the State thus far, including 96 on Sunday, Jampa added.
So far over 18.05 lakh people have been inoculated with Coronavirus vaccines in the State, State Immunization Officer (SIO) Dr Dimong Padung informed.
