Release salaries of SSA employees: Gauhati High Court to Government

Itanagar: The Itanagar permanent bench of the Gauhati High Court has directed the state government to take immediate steps for payment of fixed remuneration, with effect from July 2016, to contractual employees serving under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) in East Siang district.

Hearing the writ petition (civil) 75(AP)/2018 filed by 10 SSA contractual employees from East Siang district, Justice Manojit Bhuyan in his order issued recently said, “I find no reason to detain adjudication of this case any further.

Accordingly, the same stands disposed of with direction to the state respondents to take immediate steps for payment of fixed remuneration to the petitioners with effect from July, 2016. Let the required exercise be completed within an outer limit period of three months from today.”
