Roing MLA Mutchu Mithi elected National People’s Party Legislature Party Leader in the State Assembly

ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of National People’s Party (NPP) on Sunday unanimously elected Roing MLA Mutchu Mithi as the Legislature Party Leader in the State Assembly.

The NPP, led by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, won five seats in the State Assembly polls, results of which were declared on Thursday.

The decision was taken at the party’s legislature party meeting held in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Sangma which was also attended by Meghalaya Home Minister James Sangma, all the five elected MLAs of the party along with the State unit president Gicho Kabak, a party communiqué said.

The meeting extended heartfelt congratulations to Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu for the victory of 41 MLAs and two MPs in the Assembly and Lok Sabha election respectively in the State.

The party hoped that the BJP government in the State would work for the all-round development of the State.

Sangma assured the party leaders of the State to visit the family members of Tirong Aboh and others who were killed by suspected NSCN militants at Khonsa on May 21.

Aboh won the Khonsa West seat as an NPP candidate this time.

Sangma would also attend the oath-taking ceremony of Khandu which is likely to be held on May 29.
