ITANAGAR: The Save Arunachal Youth Organization (SAYA) demanded Chief Minister Pema Khandu to suspend Papum Pare Deputy Commi-ssioner (Yupia) Pige Ligu for his alleged involvement in renaming Kimin of Arunachal Pradesh and showing it as a part of Assam during a programme attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh last week.

SAYA has called to suspend the DC within ten days, failing to which the union has called for a democratic movement against the State government.

The association said that an intimation letter was served by Border Roads Organization (BRO) to the DC before the inaugural programme of the Kimin-Potin road, where it was mentioned that the programme was being held in RTC (ITBP), Bilgarh, Assam.

The union said that the DC, despite knowing the fact, remained silent and did not make an effort to rectify the mistake.

"The DC is equally responsible as the BRO Chief Engineer Pramod Kumar. Without acting to rectify the mistake, the DC is still quiet on the matter which has evoked tension among the people of State," SAYA further stated.

SAYA has also served a letter to the Governor of State for inquiry and a separate letter to Special Investigation Cell (SIC), State police to arrest the DC.
