Schemes under Department of Agriculture and Horticulture reviewed in Arunachal Pradesh

NAHARLAGUN: The Department of Agriculture and Horticulture organized a review meeting of all the state and central funding for the year 2020-21 at the conference hall of the Directorate of Agriculture on Monday.

Talking to media persons, Minister Agriculture & Allied Tage Taki said, "Today we reviewed the various centrally and state sponsored schemes of two departments–agriculture and horticulture."

The prime focus of the meeting was to review how far the departments had been able to provide service to the public in the last financial year 2021-22, and what was the performance. "We also reviewed the performance of last year's Atma Nirbhar Bagwani Yojana and Atma Nirbhar Krishi Yojana. We are going to implement this year's budget proposal with slight modifications which we discussed today," he added.

While appreciating the officials of the departments, Tagi said that there were certain lacunae but overall performance was satisfactory. When asked about why the farmers are not getting the loan easily in the banks, Taki said, "We are going to interact with the bank officials soon and will discuss the issue with the banks and will request them to provide help to the farmers."

Horticulture and Agriculture advisor Gabrial D Wangsu and Agriculture Secretary Bidol Tayeng, among senior officials of the department attended the meeting.
