Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Mama Natung on Friday advised the youth not to distinguish and discriminate against each other but take pride and ownership in being from the state.
Declaring open the third edition of Arunachal Yuva Samanvay at Roing in Lower Dibang Valley district, the minister said, “We are from a vast and diverse state with varied tribes having different languages, cultures and traditions and the ‘Yuva Samanvay’ is a platform for all to learn about and celebrate each other’s uniqueness while also coming together as one.” He informed that the aim of the ‘Yuva Samanvay’ is to foster unity, oneness and harmony among the youth of the State.
“‘We Are One’ was the message he gave and emphasized that this should be the call that the youth reiterate, inculcate and practice. The theme of the event is ‘Yuva Against Drugs’.
Roing MLA Mutchu Mithi in his address, advised the young people to listen to advice given by the elders, assimilate the right knowledge, ideas and experience and take a resolution to work towards progress and development. “The youth of our state are capable, talented and are the face of change and this event should be a platform for them to develop and present their talent and ideas,” he added. The lawmaker also advised one and all to resist from coming under the influence of drugs and other substances.
