Single-day recoveries surpass COVID-19 cases in Arunachal

Single-day recoveries outnumbered fresh COVID-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh, as nine more people recuperated from the disease on Thursday, while the northeastern state recorded six fresh cases, a senior health official said here on Friday.

ITANAGAR: Single-day recoveries outnumbered fresh COVID-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh, as nine more people recuperated from the disease on Thursday, while the northeastern state recorded six fresh cases, a senior health official said here on Friday.

The new cases raised the coronavirus tally in the state to 55,208 and a total of 54,884 people have recovered from the disease thus far, the official said.

The recovery rate improved to 99.41 per cent while the active percentage stood at 0.08, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

The death toll in the frontier state remained at 280 as no casualty was reported in the past 24 hours, the SSO said. Arunachal Pradesh now has 44 active cases.

West Kameng district has the highest number of active cases at 8, followed by the Capital Complex Region and Tawang with seven cases each and East Siang at six cases.

As many as 11,91,509 samples have been tested for COVID-19 thus far in the state, Jampa said adding, the positivity ration stood at 1.10 per cent.

State Immunisation Officer Dr Dimong Padung informed that a total of 13,49,864 people have been inoculated so far in the state.
