BORDUMSA: Somlung Mossang, the legislator from Bordumsa-Diyun in Eastern Arunachal, took strong cognizance of defaulting contractors and executing agencies engaged in various community welfare projects and warned them to mend their ways and complete the time-bound projects within the stipulated time, ensuring specified quality therein.

The MLA, Mossang, was on a two-day surprise inspection across the constituency to physically verify the status of several ongoing projects, including roads, culverts, community halls, bridges, etc. According to the PRO of the local MLA, the legislator himself, with sound technical know-how of the civil works, is in the habit of frequenting the development site, often in disguise, to have first-hand knowledge of the projects under construction. He closely monitored the work himself and did not spare anyone if found to be indifferent towards the execution of the people-oriented development projects, he added.

Appreciating the executing agency's high-quality work in regard to an on-going 6-kilometre road project connecting NH-215 to Bordumsa Township under the Chief Minister Comprehensive State Road Plan (CMCSRP), Mossang said durable road connectivity is the lifeline to a robust economy.

"Based on the findings during my physical inspection last week in Namleng village, I have asked the contractor and executing agency engaged in the maintenance of a 1.800 KM long road from Bordumsa-Borkhet point to Namleng village to immediately go for re-carpeting the affected position in some of the patches of the road as the quality at some points was found to be below standard", informed the MLA.

“Come what may, I never allow contractors or executing agencies to compromise with the quality of work. Earlier, several contractors were compelled to do double-carpeting, and also a bridge got rebuilt,” further the MLA said.
