Itanagar: The Tawang unit of the Field Outreach Bureau under the union Information and Broadcasting Ministry, on Thursday organized a Special Outreach Programme on the theme “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, ban on single use of plastics and Swachhta Action Plan” at Gonkhar village under Mokto circle in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The programme was marked with events like mass awareness rally, rural sport competition, and mass awareness meeting. Field Outreach Bureau’s Tawang unit head Pem Tsering highlighted the aims and objectives of the programme and explained about Swachhta Action plan (SAP) saying that it is one of the flagship programme of Prime Minister towards making Swachh Bharat.
Kitpi government secondary school teacher K S Pandey said that the main purpose of the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat is to enhance and enrich the different culture and tradition of the country.
Another teacher of the school T B Kumar explained about ban on single use of plastics. He said that most of the plastic is not biodegradable and contained many chemical and hazardous substances which are a serious risk factor for human health and environment.
He urged the villagers to avoid and abstain from using single use plastics like plastic bags, plastics bottles and plastic cups, plates.
