Arunachal Pradesh Traders warned on essential commodities price rise during lockdown

ITANAGAR: Dolang Akom on Price Rise Activities: Taking strong exception to the reports of exorbitant prices of essential commodities during the lockdown, Member Secretary, Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC), Itanagar, Dolang Akom warned the shopkeepers and traders not to indulge in such activities failing which they may have to lose their treading license.

Speaking to the media, Dolang stated 'movement of vehicles carrying essential commodities is exempted during the containment period. The administration has issued an order for exemption of vehicles carrying essential commodities from 5am to 12 noon, so there shouldn't be a practice of price rise in the market.

"There are helplines No. so we urged the consumers to take Cash Memos of their purchased commodities and if anything is selling beyond the actual price should immediately inform the sector Magistrate or to their Respective Corporator, or even call the APMC Members, stated Member Secretary.

He further informed that, to check such malpractices, Administration has assigned Sector Magistrate and sought help from concern Corporators of IMC to take vigil on the market rates. Main markets are closed, but designated shops for e-commerce, and in various sectors are still running their shops with proper SOPs , but if they found involved in selling commodities at a high price, their license might get canceled, cautioned Member Secretary APMC Dolang Akom.
