Training programme on Heat Related Illness and Death held in Pasighat

A one-day training programme on Heat Related Illness and Death was organized as part of the National Programme for Climate Change and Human Health

PASIGHAT: A one-day training programme on Heat Related Illness and Death was organized as part of the National Programme for Climate Change and Human Health (NPCCHH) and to review of the IHIP Portal of the East Siang district at Bakin Pertin General Hospital (BPGH) near here on Thursday.

The programme was graced by former Joint DHS Dr Tamut Taloh as chief guest. He advised for incorporation of the NPCCHH program activities in the district to prevent mortality and morbidity due to climate change.

Dr Talung Tali, Joint DHS ( BPGH), attended the programme as the guest of honour. He discoursed on importance of NPCCHH and advocated for immediate needs of implementing the programme.

DMO Dr Radesh Tatan advised the healthcare staff of the district to work sincerely for overall improvement in the health care sector.

He said, "If programmes like NPCCHH are not properly implemented then there will be unprecedented morbidity and mortality due to heat related illness."

Earlier, District Nodal Officer NPCCHH Dr Tarik Talom briefed about the aims and objectives of the meeting cum training programme.

He made a power-point presentation on overview background, key objectives, implementation activities, district action plan, IEC, Heat-wave, Global warming and Heat related illness under NPCCHH. DVBCPO Dr Keni Lego also delivered a lecture on the theme.

In the technical session, the District Epidemiologist (IDSP) T Tamir and Data Manager (IDSP) Olom Pertin made power-point presentations on Surveillance, Data recording and reporting on Heat related diseases and IHIP.
