GYAWEPURANG (SEPPA): Minister Sports & Youth Affairs Mama Natung, along with MLA Tapuk Taku and MLA Hayeng Mangfi, attended the 44th foundation day of East Kameng Social Welfare and Cultural Organization (EKSWCO) held near here on Monday.

Addressing the gathering, Natung, while appreciating the organization for acknowledging his contribution to the education sector in the district, said that every leader holds the responsibility for the betterment of society and he did the same. He said the public, instead of appreciating the leaders for their work for public benefit, was rather more into criticizing and defaming the districts, which should be stopped. Natung said that the trend of filing RTI should be put to an end as it not only hampers development works but is also harassment to the officers and leaders to work properly.

"Every issue should be resolved through discussion rather than flashing on social media without any proof. I believe people with good intentions and thoughts will never defame the district. While leaders and EKSWCO are making effort to rise above for the betterment of the district, it is these groups with evil intentions creating poor image of the district," he said. He also appealed to shun the money and mortgage system during elections which ultimately is the reason for no development in the districts.

Speaking on the delay of the Seppa-Chayangtajo NEC road, MLA Hayeng Mangfi said that no legislator wants to deprive his people and constituency. Therefore, the public should be patient as the work can't be completed in one day. He said, nevertheless road communications are on better flow as most of the PMGSY roads are in the second stage of construction in the 9th Chayangtajo constituency. "Most of the villages in the constituency are today well connected with roads except two. Likewise, I also have plans for every circle in the constituency for which I want my public to remain patient as everything is planned and the public will witness development," he added.

Meanwhile, 10th Seppa MLA Tapuk Taku said that without the cooperation of the public, there can't be development. He said the most challenging thing for him as a leader is that people from the rest of the three constituencies of the district were settled in the Seppa district headquarters.

"Nevertheless, I have always ensured better living for every individual and family settled in the district headquarters," he said.
