Union Minister for Heavy Industries Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey pledges steps to develop Namsai

NAMSAI: Union Minister for Heavy Industries Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey assured to extend all possible support to Namsai as an Aspirational District, and the State as a whole, during his maiden visit to Namsai on Saturday.

During the visit, the Union Minister was accompanied by MP (East) Tapir Gao, MLA of Namsai, Chou Zingnu Namchoom, MLA of Lekang, Jummum Ete Dori, the Deputy Commissioner of Namsai and other officials. Pandey visited various projects like JJM (Jal Jeevan Mission) and Amrit Sarovar being constructed under MNREGA and other projects.

The Union Minister also held review meetings and took updates on various ongoing projects related to the Aspirational District.

Speaking to the media, the Union Minister assured to extend all possible support from his Ministry for the all-round development of the State. He also informed that the MP (East) and MLAs of the Aspirational District have apprised him of issues related to various projects, which need the Government's immediate attention.

He informed that all the issues will be taken care of minutely. The Central Government is all set to confer all possible support to the district and the State as a whole. The Centre has already allotted Rs 15 crore under the Aspirational District to Namsai for various projects, he said.

However, he said, there are some requirements for the proposed Medical College at Namsai. "I will definitely study the issues and assist the authority to clear all files on time for the early construction of the Medical College", Pandey added.
