ITANAGAR: A week-long international faculty development programme [FDP] on 'New Paradigms of Research in Commerce and Management' was inaugurated virtually by Prof. Saket Kushwaha, Vice Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), here on Monday.

Addressing the inaugural function, RGU VC Prof. Kushwaha stressed the importance of online platform to disseminate knowledge and ideas through the virtual platform. He lauded the efforts of the Department of Commerce, RGU in organizing the FDP on the pertinent and relevant issues and topics which are essential to researchers in the pursuit of their research work. He reiterated that there is no alternative to handwork and sincerity. Young researchers should be hard working, diligent and use perseverance to do quality research work, instead of seeking shortcuts, he said. Quoting Raj Kapoor, he said that no matter whatever the situation is "the show must go on".

The welcome address was extended by Prof. Otem Padung, the Head of the Department. While the briefing was done by Dr Devi Baruah, Programme Coordinator, the vote of thanks was offered by Dr. Philip Modi, Joint Programme Coordinator.

This programme spans five days till July 3, 2020. A total of 10 experts in different fields of the research domain across the world will share their knowledge and expertise spread over 12 sessions during the entire duration of the programme. More than 360 participants from India, Saudi Arabia, USA, UK, and Ethiopia are participating in the programme.
