WHO contributes Oxygen Concentrators to Arunachal Pradesh

ITANAGAR: In noble gesture, World Health Organization (WHO) has contributed 150 Oxygen Concentrators to Arunachal Pradesh.

Minister for Health & Family Welfare Alo Libang received the consignment in presence of Dr. Sharat Chauhan, Principal Secretary (Health & FW), Dr. Yijum Tato, State Nodal Officer (Oxygen), Dr. Marbom Basar, DDHS (S&T), Dr. Kipa Tuglik, DDHS (CMS-Supply), and Dr. Ushma Dharod NPSP-WHO .

Expressing gratitude to the WHO, Libang informed that WHO has provided 150 oxygen concentrators with a capacity up to 8 liter per minute for state of Arunachal Pradesh to fight against COVID-19 pandemic. He further added that portable Oxygen Concentrator will be distributed to remote hospital of various district.

More Oxygen generator Plants are to be established in various district and state capitals under PM-Care funds and also with the help of other NGOs.

Health Minister further also informed that state government is taking all steps to ensure adequate oxygen supply in the state we are preparing ourselves to fight against COVID, we have now more than 300 Oxygen beds and also in plan to enhance it up to 500 in DCH-Chimpu as well as to enhance its ICU beds.

Principal Secretary Health Dr. Sharat Chauhan also thanked the WHO for lending a helping hand and for the kind support to the state. He informed that Health Department is working on war footing mode to provide adequate oxygen support in all parts of State.
