Women drug peddlers arrested in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh

ITANAGAR: Police in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh have arrested three women drug peddlers and recovered heroin worth Rs 6 lakh from their possession, police sources from the district informed. Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Longding deputy superintendent of police B Tangjang arrested the peddlers on Saturday. The peddlers are identified as Phanya Manham from Niausa village, Anon Wangsaham from Chatting village, and Songlih Manham from Niausa village. The police team, which included sub-inspectors T Konai and S Wangsu and constable R Ponglaham, set up a naka near the Pumao-Longding tri-junction. During checking in the presence of executive magistrate Bini Shiva, 197.6 gm of suspected heroin worth Rs 6 lakh were recovered from the possession of the peddlers, the sources said. A case under Section 21(b) of the NDPS Act has been registered against the peddlers at Longding police station.
