BORDUMSA: Yoga enthusiast and Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Mein, said that yoga has been part of his daily routine for decades. He said he could act as an hour-long instructor during the observance of the last International Yoga Day at Namsai’s Golden Pagoda. The senior and high-voltage politician of Arunachal Pradesh was addressing the budding talents at the New Age Learning Centre (NALC), a digital Library with innovations here at Miao in Arunachal’s Changlang district.

Mein was accompanied by Kamlung Mossang, the Minister for Food, Civil Supply, and Urban Development; Somlung Mossang, the legislator of Bordumsa-Diyun; Suny K Singh, IAS, the Deputy Commissioner of Changlang; and a host of dignitaries. Mein's acceleration of the pace of infra-Education and sports assets’ development in Miao inaugurated a series of government assets for students and sporty youths in the area. Besides the launch of the Miao Craft website, Mein also inaugurated a new Girls Hostel at the Government Higher Secondary School, a Multipurpose Outdoor Synthetic Turf close to the boys hostel and Cricket net, and a Miao Skating Rink-cum-BMX in the Boys Hostel complex. Briefing the public on the journey involving the setting up of the NALC, UD Minister Kamlung Mossang said that the administration and the well-wishers initially started raising funds for the purpose, which was fulfilled later with the support of the state government’. ‘The contribution of the DCM to realising the end is very important’, added Mossang.

Meanwhile, the DC Changlang appraised the house about the functioning of the centre and explained in brief how the budding talents benefited immensely from the centre that had been awarded earlier by the Prime Minister of the country.

Lauding the efforts of Suny K. Singh, the top bureaucrat of the district, for conceptualising the innovative digital library for the Greater Miao area, Mein readily announced Rs ten lakh for the setting up of a yoga centre attached to the library. Mein, while reiterating the essence of discipline among the students in their formative years, said that library culture and reading habits in Arunachal Pradesh ought to be boosted in true spirits. Stressing the inculcation of civic virtues, Mein said that respecting the elders and teachers should be a part of our daily habits.

"I am indeed moved at the performance of the tiny talented kids at the NALC, amongst other things, by a poem in particular that was recited so meaningfully and vividly expressing the welcoming couplets to honour us", said the Dy Chef Minister. Namsai too has a techno-rich library, yet I would like to have a copy of this kind in consultation with the DC Changlang. The DY Chief Minister also paid a visit to the gompa at Choephelling TR camp and offered his prayers, besides interacting with the office bearers of the Emporium Weaving Centre therein.
