Yomgo River Festival all set to kickstart in West Siang district on Friday

Itanagar: The Yomgo River Festival is all set to kick-off in West Siang district on February 7.

All preparations have been completed for the mega tourism festival by the events managers and festival celebration committees along with the district administration, official sources informed here on Wednesday.

On the inaugural day of the festival, the Yomgo Accord would be inked, while bamboo basket weaving competition, panel discussion on "Cultural Tourism in Rural Communities – Avenues and Challenges" and best forest vegetable dish competition are the highlights of the first day of the festival.

Folk song competition, Feyago YRF anthem, modern dance, folk dance, Omak Komut collections, David Angu and Tribe Gauley Bhai Arko Mukherjee collective would also be unfolded on the venue on the inaugural day.

On the second day of the festival, carnival in Aalo town, children activities, best fish cooking competition in bamboo, amin eating competition and panel discussion on "Galo Tribe then and now" besides Galo folk dance competition, Erap and presentations by Lenzing Domin Ngampi, Dambi Jini, Liduk Padu, Jeli Kayi and others will be conducted.
