YouTuber Paras gets Lesson in History of Arunachal Pradesh

He was imparted knowledge about international border shared by India and China on a world map

Itanagar: YouTuber Paras Singh, who was brought to Arunachal Pradesh after he was arrested by the Ludhiana Police on Tuesday for racial slur against Arunachal Pradesh MLA Ninong Ering, was given virtual history lessons by the state police on Arunachal's history and culture on Saturday.

He was imparted knowledge about international border shared by India and China on a world map. He was taught that India and China share a 3,488-km-long border running along Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh.

As the 22-year-old YouTuber called Ering as 'Chinese' and Arunachal Pradesh a part of China, he brought to Itanagar by air by the SIT team of Arunachal Police late on Thursday night.

The SIT team, who went to Ludhiana, was led by inspector Techi Vijay.

During his interrogation, police said that the account with the channel name 'Paras Official' with 4.68 lakh subscribers is used for showing tips, tricks, and informing his subscribers about the new skins of games like Call of Duty (COD) mobile and PUBG un-boxing videos while the other titled 'Paras Gamers' with 3.94 lakh subscribers are used to live stream PUBG in YouTube.

According to the reports, both the accounts are monetized by YouTube and he earns anywhere between Rs 20,000 and 25,000 in a month.

Police said, "The YouTuber during the questioning also disclosed that the controversial video, against which a case has now been registered, was made by him to gain widespread attention and views so that his monetary income could be maximized."

It is to be mentioned that during the interrogation, he has studied till Class X lives with his mother in Janakpuri, Ludhiana, Punjab. The SIT has seized one laptop, one tablet, and three mobile phones from the YouTuber's possession for further investigation.

Meanwhile, he was remanded six-day judicial custody by the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court in Yupia and he shall be lodged at the District Jail in July near Itanagar.
