ITANAGAR: The Ziro Festival of Music has released its own app for mobile phone users which is available on both Android and iOS stores and is specifically focused on attendees coming to visit Ziro Valley in September this year.

The app lists out all the artistes performing at the festival, including detailed information about them and their performance times and gives users the option of creating their own schedules on their app, festival director Bobby Hano informed.

The app also offers attendees guidance on all the homestays, campsites and hotels in the vicinity as well as the activities on offer and basic facilities like locations of ATMs and other useful services.

"We have been thinking of developing a festival app for a while now and I am really happy to say that this is the first festival from the North-east that has its own app. We hope to continue to work on this app to become a one-stop for all visitors to Arunachal Pradesh so that they can get easy information to all their travel-related queries," says Bobby.

Developed in-house with their tech partner Systica Systems, the app took two months to be ready for launch. The mobile app is a fully accessible one (screen reader friendly) and was worked upon by Kerala-based visually impaired developer and tester Ramees.

The app also includes playlists of all the artistes performing at the festival as well as a store to buy tickets and festival merchandise.

"Ziro Music Festival has always been artiste-centric and the app is a perfect download for anyone who wants to enjoy the vibrant independent music scene of the North-East," says Anup Kutty, creative producer of the festival.

Ziro Festival returns to Ziro valley after a two-year hiatus following the pandemic. This is the ninth edition of India's most eco-friendly festival and features artistes from the North-East as well as countries like Lithuania, the UK, France, Israel and Japan.

The ninth edition of the festival is all set to be held in the picturesque valley of Ziro in the Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh from September 29 to October 2 next. It is the perfect setting to dive into one's deeper self, connect with nature and rejuvenate with music. One would be ecstatic to witness how the festival site is surrounded by lush multi-hued paddy fields, the Eastern-Himalayan range and the ever-welcoming locals. Ziro Valley is home to the Apatani tribe, who also hosts this festival.

All kinds of travelers will have something to enthrall themselves with - artistes from around the world, from rock and jazz to classical and folk, cultural events from the region, workshops, art installations and not to forget, a diverse food experience.
