10-year old meets watery grave in Beesakopie stream near Doomdooma

A 10-year old boy drowned in the Beesakopie stream near Doomdooma. According to reports, he went missing on Saturday evening while going for a bath and to catch fish.

DOOMDOOMA: A 10-year old boy drowned in the Beesakopie stream near Doomdooma. According to reports, he went missing on Saturday evening while going for a bath and to catch fish.

The SDRF personnel searched for him immediately after the incident. But they had to abandon the operation as it grew dark in the evening. His body was recovered on Sunday at a distance from the spot. The victim has been identified as Bikash Bhuyan (18) of Line No.9 of Beesakopie Tea Estate. He is said to have drowned while fishing in the river with his friends.

The incident took place near Line 9 of Beesakopie tea estate. The body was sent to Tinsukia for postmortem.
