BONGAIGAON: Around 14 patients, who had tested positive for COVID-19, were discharged from hospitals on Thursday after they completely recovered from the infection following treatment.

The Chirang health authorities said Shajamal Ali (25), Supriya Khatun (47), Imran Ali (18), Hafizur Rahman (24) from Elengmari and Ashique Ali (18) from No.2 Goraimari village under Bijni police station, Dr. Alal Uddin of JSB Civil Hospital, Zinti Das Talukdar (49) and Digangana Kashyap (15) from Guwahati, Ajoy Muchahary (31) from Pachim Soulmari, Swmkhwr Basumatary (22) from Dwimusa, Raja Goyary (25) from Kulungdwisa under Runikhata police station, Jatin Rabha (28) from No.1 East Bhadragaon, Mehdi Masum (9) from Bandwguri under Dhaligaon Police Station, and Majammel Hussain (20) from Khagrabari under Basugaon police station, were discharged from Kashikotra Model Hospital and JSB Civil Hospital after they recovered completely. They have been counselled by the medical team to follow the health ministry's guidelines of home quarantine.

Out of total 78 COVID-19 positive cases, the hospitals have so far discharged 52 COVID-19 patients following their recovery. As such, 26 active cases are undergoing treatment, the health officials further said.
