16 revenue villages flooded in Lakhimpur district

LAKHIMPUR: Due to inclement weather, the overflowing water of the rivers Subansiri and Ranganadi has inundated a total of 16 revenue villages under two Revenue Circles (RC) in Lakhimpur district. Amtola PGR has been inundated by the River Ranganadi. On the other hand, the overflowing water of River Subansiri has inundated 15 revenue villages afresh under Bihpuriya RC. These affected villages are Dhunaguri, Dhunaguri Khanikar, No. 1 Adhakhona, Bahgora Deuri, Bholukaguri, No. 1 Chenimora Kankur, Bahgora Pothar, Purani Bahgora, Pabhobhekeli, No. 1 Kaniajan, No. 2 Kaniajan, No. 1 Aunibari, No. 2 Aunibari, No. 2 Chenimora Kankur, No. 2 Adhakhona. As per report found from the district administration, the flash flood has affected a total of 2,300 people and 11.60 hectares of crop area of the affected villages.
