KOKRAJHAR: As many as 18 more persons, including a doctor posted at Balajan PHC, have tested positive within 24 hours in Kokrajhar. Among these, 7 are from Dalgaon, 3 from Balaknagar, 1 from Durgapara of Gossaigaon subdivision, 2 from Kokrajhar Police Reserve and 4 from Digli Forest Camp in Kokrajhar subdivision. The number of COVID-19 positive cases in Kokrajhar district has risen to 290 while 215 were discharged till Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar and in-charge of Gossaigaon subdivision on Wednesday, by an order, declared the entire Gossaigaon Municipal Board areas as containment zone. The movement of people, vehicles and all markets is prohibited from July 22 till August 4. Medical staff and people engaged in emergency tasks have been exempted.
The persons detected COVID-19 positive in Kokrajhar are-Dr. Himangchu Das (39) of RN Brahma Civil Hospital, Sagar Sutradhar (16) of Dalgaon, Paritosh Saha (45) of Balaknagar, Jhantu Karmakar (55) of Durgapara, Nakul Debnath (26) of Dadlgaon, Jyoti Choudhury (26) of Balaknagar, Manosh Debnath (30) of Dalgaon, Debshankar Saha (30), Balaknagar, Dilip Singh (56) of Digli Forest Camp, Kalpajyoti Bora (26) of Kokrajhar Police Reserve, Jayanta Kr. Roy (56) of Digli Forest Camp, Mithun Roy (19) of Dalgaon, Saurav Karmakar (20) of Dalgaon, Suman Debnath (22) of Dalgaon, Dipjyoti Das (27) of Digli Forest Camp, Pulin Barman (52) of Kokrajhar Police Reserve, Kamleswar Bordolai (47) of Digli Forest Camp and Kanaka Saha (38) of Dalgaon.
