18 new COVID-19 fresh cases detected in Lakhimpur

During the second surge of contagion, COVID-19 cases are increasing in Lakhimpur day-by-day.

LAKHIMPUR: During the second surge of contagion, COVID-19 cases are increasing in Lakhimpur day-by-day. A total of 18 fresh COVID-19 patients were detected in the district on Wednesday. These cases were reported from various parts of the district, like North Lakhimpur urban, Dhalpur, Bihpuriya, Boginadi and Ghilamora. The District Health Department conducted Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) on 1,475 persons across the district on Wednesday, out of which the 18 people tested positive for coronavirus infection. With these newly-detected patients, the cumulative total of COVID-19 patients of the district has hiked to 8,138 since April 4 of last year. Out of them, 7,996 recovered patients have been discharged from hospitals and home quarantine while there are 82 active cases at present.
