181 COVID cases detected in 3 days in Lakhimpur

One more fatality due to COVID-19 infection was reported in Lakhimpur on Saturday.

LAKHIMPUR: One more fatality due to COVID-19 infection was reported in Lakhimpur on Saturday. The deceased person has been identified as Abdul Rahman (60), resident of Rajgarh under North Lakhimpur Police Station. The person breathed his last in Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh. On the other hand, a total of 181 fresh COVID-19 cases were detected in the district in last three days. Out of them 37 cases were detected on Sunday, 77 cases were detected on Monday and 67 cases were detected on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, 65 cases were detected as per the results of the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) while 2 cases were reported as per Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Test. On this day, the District Health Department registered only 54.34 per cent achievement in conducting the RAT in order to detect COVID-19 patients out of the targeted figure 3,430. The detected cases were reported from Dhalpur BPHC (7), Bihpuriya BPHC (12), Naoboicha BPHC (8), Boginadi BPHC (9), Dhakuakhana BPHC (7), Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital Respiratory Clinic (20) and Private Nursing Homes (2).

With these fresh patients, the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases of the district has hiked to 13,701 since April 4 of the last year.
