19 bike lifters nabbed by Chirang Police in 10 days

“Chirang police have nabbed total 19 bike lifters and recovered 36 stolen bikes in a span of 10 days,” said L R Bishnoi, Special DGP of Assam, on Tuesday in Chirang.

BONGAIGAON: "Chirang police have nabbed total 19 bike lifters and recovered 36 stolen bikes in a span of 10 days," said L R Bishnoi, Special DGP of Assam, on Tuesday in Chirang. Bisnoi, addressing a press meet at Chirang, said that this was a grand success of Chirang police. "Following different inputs, police had conducted raids in several parts of Chirang such as Dhaligaon, Sidli, Basugaon and Amguri in the last 10 days. This resulted in such grand success. As we came to know, these stolen bikes are used for various illegal and anti-social activities such as smuggling of drugs and helping in terrorist activities in the Indo-Bhutan border areas. All these bikes were stolen from neighboring areas of Chirang. Our search operation is going on," Bisnoi said.
