‘2 lakh families to get new ration cards in Cachar’: Jayanta Malla Baruah

SILCHAR: A total of 40 lakh new ration cards would be distributed in the state from January 16 to January 21, stated Jayanta Malla Baruah, the Guardian Minister of Cachar here on Friday night.While talking to media persons after the meeting with the Food and Civil Supply department, Baruah said that the State government had decided to distribute 40 lakh new ration cards in the State. The new ration cards would be distributed in every district of Assam from January 16 to January 21 by ministers and the MLAs in every constituency. Out of this, more than 2 lakh families in Cachar district will receive this card. Minister Parimal Suklabadya would formally start the distribution programme of the ration cards in Cachar on January 16 and January 19, Guardian Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah and Assembly Deputy Speaker, Nomal Momin would distribute ration cards in the district. New ration cards would be distributed to 214,000 beneficiaries in Cachar.

Earlier in the day, PHE & Skill development, Entrepreneurship & Tourism Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah attended the 30th biennial conference of instructors and staff of Assam at the conference hall of ITI here on Friday. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken initiatives to improve the skills of the youth and the young generation of Assam should grab the opportunity.

Minister Mallabaruah said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister Dr Himant Biswa Sarma, the entire ITI education was being taken forward on the path of change. Maintaining that the students should give priority to technical education, Baruah said that agreements were being made with various organisations for the technical education and skill development of the youth. Old ideas about ITIs needed to be changed.
