205 new COVID cases detected in Lakhimpur district during last two days

A total of 205 fresh COVID-19 cases were detected in Lakhimpur district in the last two days.

LAKHIMPUR: A total of 205 fresh COVID-19 cases were detected in Lakhimpur district in the last two days. Out of them, 111 cases were detected on Saturday while 94 cases were detected on Sunday.

On Saturday, the detected cases were reported from North Lakhimpur Urban Hospital (9), Dhalpur BPHC (15), Bihpuriya BPHC (15), Naoboicha BPHC (11), Boginadi BPHC (25), Ghilamora BPHC (6) Dhakuakhana BPHC (12), Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital Respiratory Clinic (11) and Private Nursing Homes (7). On this day, the District Health Department conducted only 5145 RATs in the nine COVID-19 test centers of the district including the Block Primary Health Centers (BPHCs) and private nursing homes and registered 75.00 per cent achievement in conducting the RAT in order to detect COVID-19 patients out of the targeted figure 6860.

On the other hand, the District Health Department on Sunday conducted only 3064 RATs across the district and registered 44.66 per cent achievement in conducting the test. On this day, the detected cases were reported from Dhalpur BPHC (3), Bihpuriya BPHC (5), Naoboicha BPHC (47), Boginadi BPHC (1), Dhakuakhana BPHC (22), Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital Respiratory Clinic (13) and Private Nursing Homes (3).

The cumulative load of COVID-19 cases of the district during the second wave of the pandemic has gone up to 9,171 since April 1 of this year. Of them, as many as 8,221 recovered patients have been discharged from hospitals and home quarantine. A total of 858 are active cases as on date.

On Sunday, 93 recovered patients were discharged from institutional isolation while 27 recovered patients were discharged from home isolation.

During the second wave, 92 people succumbed to the COVID-19 in the district raising the overall tally of the pandemic fatalities up to 151 including the last year's fatalities.
