MORIGAON: "The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) was formed in 1985 based on the Assam Agitation which was started in 1979 with an aim to deport the illegal Bangladeshi nationals in the State. Since then, the AGP has been raising voice for the people of Assam," said State Agriculture Minister Atul Bora while attending a joining meeting at Bhurbandha on Friday. The minister thanked the central committee spokesperson of AGP, Bani Das for taking the initiative for 2,123 youths from 22 anchalik committees in the district to join the party. The minister also said that the joining of the 2,123 youths had strengthened the party's position in the 80 no. constituency for fighting in the upcoming assembly election.
