24th session of All Assam Higher Secondary Teachers' & Employees' Association ends

GAURIASAGAR: The 24th session of All Assam Higher Secondary Teachers' & Employees' Association (AAHSTEA) that began here on Thursday successfully concluded on Saturday in Sivasagar Yuva Dal Auditorium. The three-day long programme was attended by hundreds of HS teachers and employees hailing from across the State. In the open session, Jogen Mohan, Revenue Minister, Topon Kr Gogoi, MP, Dr Rukma Gohain Barua, chairman, Assam HS Education Council, Dr. Dayananda Borgohain, Kamaljyoti Gogoi, IS Sivasagar and Charaideo districts and a host of other dignitaries were present.

Earlier, Dr Bhaben Mohan inaugurated the meeting. In his speech, Minister Jogen Mohan said that the government is looking after the infrastructure and other aspects. On the second day Himadrijyoti Dutta, president of All Assam Higher Secondary Teachers' & Employees Association

unfurled the flag while Naren Rajkhowa, Dhrubajyoti Handique and Prasanta Kalita performed smriti tarpans in the morning. Mayur Borgohain, working president of the reception committee, inaugurated the stage by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Later Kamaljyoti Gogoi, Inspector of Schools of Sivasagar and Charaideo districts and president of the reception committee released the souvenir 'Kalanchu', edited by Indra Kamal Phukan. Thereafter the seminar on 'NCF in HS Stage in the light of NEP 2020' was inaugurated by Dr Jyoti Prasad Saikia, Vice Chancellor, Biranagana Sati Sadhoni Biswavidyala. He said that meta-cognitive skill development in learners is essential in developing the ability to plan, regulate and evaluate what he or she learns. Hence, NEP 2020 stresses most on these pedagogical aspects.
