27th Wangala Fest organized in West Karbi Anglong

“The 27th Wangala Fest at Bithung Rajendra LP school playground fostered positive relationships with Bangladesh’s Garo people.” This was stated by EM KAAC Prabhat Ch Taro who attended as a chief guest on the concluding 27th Wangala Fest at Rajendra LP school playground, West Karbi Anglong.

DONGKAMUKAM: “The 27th Wangala Fest at Bithung Rajendra LP school playground fostered positive relationships with Bangladesh’s Garo people.” This was stated by EM KAAC Prabhat Ch Taro who attended as a chief guest on the concluding 27th Wangala Fest at Rajendra LP school playground, West Karbi Anglong. “Huge gathering in the playground to witness a Garo Band (Anto Richil Marak from Bangladesh) is a sign of the community’s cultural connectivity.

“There are a fair number of Garo voters in No. 1 Duar Amla, my seat, as well, but they haven't approached me with their complaints yet,” he informed. He continued saying that he gave land pattas to 100 Garo families in his constituency.

He went on to say that the tribe is one of the Northeast's most politically aware tribal communities. He wished them bright future. The meeting was also attended by WKADC BJP president Radip Ronghang, chairman of Veterinary Development Board Ditolal Hasnu, chairman of Minority Development Board Prakash Sangma, DMB ward commissioner Serlongki Bey and others. The cultural night was inaugurated by chairman Rongkhang Lamps Mongol Bey.

Anto Ritchil Marak group Band from Bangladesh Marcus Marak enthralled the audience. The Garo calendar 2024 was also unveiled by EM Taro and others. Organised by the Karbi Anglong A’chik Cultural Society (KAACS) the festival was held from November 5 to November 7.
