28 auxiliary polling stations to be set up at Thowra LAC

SIVASAGAR: To discuss the issue of setting up of auxiliary polling stations at 107 Thowa Legislative Assembly Constituency for the forthcoming by-election scheduled to be held on October 30, Sivasagar District Administration held a meeting with the representatives of various political parties.

Chairing the meeting, Bitupan Neog, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Election) said that as per direction of Election Commission of India (ECI) the polling centers which have 1000 or more voters in the context of the upcoming by-election should be bifurcated into two centers. He also informed that there are currently 145 main polling stations under the 107 Thowra LAC and already 28 auxiliary polling stations have been identified and sent to the ECI for approval.

With 28 auxiliary polling stations, the total number of voting stations in the constituency will be 173. He also informed that all the polling stations under the 107 Thowra Assembly Constituency will have the necessary infrastructure and well-maintained facilities. The meeting was also attended by Circle Officer of Demow Revenue Circle P, Hrangchal and Assistant Commissioner-cum- Election Officer (i/c) Deepawoli Kurmi.
