3 Rabha organizations extend greetings to new CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

DUDHNOI: The All Rabha Students' Union, All Rabha Women Council and 6th Schedule Demand Committee conveyed their warm greetings to Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, who was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Assam on Monday, as well as all members of the cabinet. A press release sent by All Rabha Students' Union president Nripen Khanda, in-charge general secretary Jay Chandra Dabang, Sixth Schedule Demand Committee president Mahidhar Rabha and chief secretary Nani Gopal Rabha stated, "We are hopeful that Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, known as an efficient leader and minister, will take strong steps to solve various long-standing problems in the State in the coming five years."

They urged that the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council should be included in the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution and the promises made during the previous government's tenure to address the long-pending problems of the Rabha community should be fulfilled.
