Karimganj: Around 30 Bangladeshi nationals were deported back to Bangladesh from Silchar Central Jail on Thursday who had entered the Indian Territory illegally, serving jail terms.
As per reports, Karimganj Police and Border Security Force Jawans deported them back through Kalibari Check Post Ferry Ghat. Border Security Force (BSF) handed over the repatriates to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Jokiganj.
The deported people were convicted by courts for violation of either the Passports Act or the Foreigners Act, or both.
It is to be noted that out of the 30 repatriates, 3 were reported females and 27 males.
The repatriates were identified as Asma Begam of Mymensingh (37), Saleha Akhtar (23) of Comilla and Suchitra Biswas (43) of Netrokona district of that country. While the rest are- Mazahar Molla (40) of Faridpur, Saddam Hossain (22) of Kurigram, Fazar Ali Molla (37) of Pabna, Azbahar Piyada (65) of Shakhira, Kartik Chandra Shil (40) of Comilla, Younis Ali (35) of Nator, Ariful Hakim (38) of Coxbazaar, Mohin Ali (37) of Comilla, Asish Das (51) of Chittagong, Abul Khayer (30 ) of Comilla, Jahangir Alam (38) of Dinajpur, Abdul Kalam Molla (48) of Khulna, Abul Kasem (50) of Netrokona, Laxman Chakraborty (27) of Sunamganj, Jahanur Alam (39) of Panchgarh, Abdul Kuddus (45) of Sylhet, Nurul Amin (30) of Khagrachari, Chand Mia (49) of Jamalpur, Illias Ahmed (30) of Panchagarh, Nur Mohammad Gazi (55) of Chandpur, Nurul Alam (32) of Coxbazaar, Abdul Kalam Azad (34) of Bogra, Wahidul Haque (38) of Brahmanbaria, Saidur Rehman (53) of Singra, Mohammad Javed (48) of Comilla, and Mohammad Abdulla (46) of Chuadanga.
It may also be mentioned that all the 30 illegal Bangladeshi nationals were earlier detained at various detention centres namely Silchar, Golaghat, Jorhat, Kokrajhar, Tezpur, Goalpara, etc.
Reports also state that these migrants had entered illegally the territory of India via border regions of Karimganj, Agartala, Dhubri and West Bengal.
