36 Anganwadi centres to get a facelift: Goalpara District Commissioner

GOALPARA: The Goalpara district administration has decided to convert at least 36 Anganwadi centres into the model anganwadi centres within this financial year.

This was stated by Khanindra Choudhury, District Commissioner (DC) of Goalpara on Friday while he was laying the foundation stone of three model Anganwadi centres – Dorapara, Ketekibari and Bamundanga Part-II under the Balijana development block. “Right from imparting primary education, the centres are designed to provide nutritious food and extending facilities for games and sports for the children,” remarked Khanindra Choudhury.

The State Government has allotted Rs 25 lakh against each centre and the construction of the same will have to be completed within the next six months after the laying of the foundation stone.
