38th Martyrs' Day observed in Jamugurihat

March 20 is celebrated as martyrs’ day at Jamugurihat as seven youths from the greater Jamugurihat area had lost their lives during the Assam Movement.

JAMUGURIHAT: March 20 is celebrated as martyrs' day at Jamugurihat as seven youths from the greater Jamugurihat area had lost their lives during the Assam Movement. The All Assam Jamuguri Students' Union had organized a shradhanjali programme at the Swahid Bedi of Jamuguri AASU as part of the 38th martyrs' day celebration in memory of the martyrs who laid down their lives during the Assam Movement. The shradhanjali programme, which began with hoisting of the AASU flag by Dhurjaat Goswami, president of Jamuguri AASU, and Jamuguri Anchalik Unnati Sabha flag by Indra Prasad Nath, was followed by offering floral tribute to the martyrs and felicitation of the family members of the martyrs of Jamugurihat by Abhijit Nath, president of Sonitpur district president of AASU, and other office bearers of AASU.
