GUWAHATI: An East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) team from the Basistha Police Station on Thursday arrested Anar Ali of Barpeta and Mahan Deb Barma of Lokhra after catching them red-handed with stolen iron materials from a workshop in Kamrup Kata.
In another development on Thursday, a team of the Central Guwahati Police District (CGPD) from the Chandmari Police Station arrested Safiqul Islam (23) and Faruk Ali (23), both from Gandhibasti, along with Karan Tamang (26) of Noonmati, and recovered 153 pieces of stolen and dismantled rickshaws from their possession.
According to police sources, a case (No 127/22 u/s 379/411 IPC dtd.13/03/22) has been registered at the Chandmari Police Station in this regard.
