51th Smriti Divas of Hari Narayan Baruah observed in Demow

DEMOW: Under the patronage of Village Defense Party (VDP) Demow and Demow Police Thana Committee, the 51th Smriti Divas of VDP founder Hari Narayan Baruah was observed in Demow Police Station on Sunday.

On the occasion, the flag was hoisted by Razaque Khan, president of Demow Thana Committee. The smriti tarpan was offered by Manuranjan Gogoi, OC of Demow Police Station. The sapling plantation was done jointly by Malaya Dey, president of Dehajan Women Village Defense Party (VDP), and Rupali Phukan, secretary of Barua Changmai Women Village Defense Party (VDP). Aban Dutta, COBDO of Demow Police Station was present in the meeting and he spoke about the Smiti Divas.

Deepshikha Tai, daughter of a VDP secretary as well as a meritorious student of Dalapa near Demow, secured first division with letter marks in two subjects in the HSLC examination, 2020. She was felicitated by the members of the VDP Demow with a phulam gamosa, a certificate and cash Rs 1,000 in the programme.
