TINSUKIA: The 5th Rashtriya Poshan Maah was observed at a block-level programme at Itakhuli ICDS Project in Tinsukia district on Wednesday under the Department of Women & Child Development with a public meeting and homemade healthy recipe competition.
Sarfraz Haque, ADC & i/c Social Welfare Department, as special guest, while explaining significance of holding Rashtriya Poshan Maah, said that a healthy diet was very essential to improve nutritional status of children, pregnant and lactating mothers and stressed breastfeeding. He also advised to grow kitchen gardens in Anganwadi centres and to plant vegetables and indigenous fruits.
The BDO of Itakhuli, Shikha Moni Gogoi, agricultural official Bhadrawati Doley, i/c of Na-Pukhuri OP, Daisy Nath, were present among others, beside Anganwadi workers. In sync with 5thRashtriya Poshan Maah a cooking competition was organized.
